Sining LABinsiyam returns to the theater scene with Dr. Layeta Bucoy’s “Orgullo Compound”

Paano mapipigilan ang pagguho?

The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Theater Arts Program’s Batch 119 students formed Sining LABinsiyam (SiLAB), a theater production company, in May 2021 are now staging a new production. Directed by Ms. Jenny Logico – Cruz and set design by Mr. Tuxqs Rustaquio. A play written by Dr Layeta Bucoy. Sining LABinsiyam presents, Orgullo Compound.

A story that focuses on how trauma and unfair treatment throughout childhood can have a long-term impact on behavior. Orgullo Compound revolves around Teofie Orgullo, a professor who is troubled by issues with his apartment compound, tenure, and intimate relationships. Teofie’s idealism leads to self-deterioration behavior and the implosion of his intimate relationships and environment. The characters’ personal and academic lives show parallelism in how they tackle their circumstances; however, Teofie’s uncompromising pride hurts everyone around him, causing the compound to fall.

With honest portrayal and theatrical experience, SiLAB intends to ardently bring the underrepresented Filipino narratives into the contemporary stage.

“Orgullo Compound” will be showing on July 29 to August 12, 2022 from 12 AM to 11:59 PM PST. Tickets are at 250 PHP, available at Ticket2Me.net.
