With two gyms in Quezon City – The Th3rd Floor located along Don A. Roces Avenue in Diliman and The Th3rd Floor Park in Samat, Quezon City- we get to see a side of the Star Magic heartthrob who is not only creative but is also a strategic leader in business. Not only that, he also owns The Hayati Private Beach resort located in Botolan, Zambales and the Hayati River Kamp in Palauig of the same province. The former is a scenic private tropical getaway resort best for an intimate escape from the metro and the latter is a serene river camping site.
If he’s not on taping, Gerald can be found at the gym or on one of the meetings for his businesses – a continuous hustle, rarely needing time off. It might sound daunting to have a full calendar but the actor shares one of the reasons why: a deep sense of passion and commitment for what one does.
“Day off ko [merong] shoot,” he said with a laugh and shared that after finishing tapings, his priority shifted towards his businesses. “On a normal day, nandito ako sa gym. Workout and then puro meetings about the gym and about the resort.”
Gerald is also not one to shy away from tough experiences. And it’s this growth mindset that becomes one of the reasons why there’s always something new that the actor surprises his fans with – whether it’s with an onscreen role or a personal project. “Kung ‘di [na] ako kinakabahan, ‘dun ako matatakot, ” he said candidly. Pursuing growth through his activities, Gerald makes it a point that there is consistent progress no matter how big or small.
Equipped with passion, talent, and grit, the Kapamilya actor is always a man on the move – a weave of elements that cement him as one of the brightest and best stars of his generation. “Confidence comes from preparation and hard work. Hindi ako papasok sa isang bagay na hindi ako sure or hindi ko pinaghandaan.” And the preparation and passion that Gerald pours into his work definitely shines – even the international scene can’t help but notice. Recounting his experience of being in the middle of a standing ovation for OTJ during the 66th Cannes Film Festival in France, Gerald shares that it was one of his proudest career moments so far. The 33-year-old actor said that he often shares a joke with Sam, one of his co-stars in A Family Affair, “Lagi kong jinojoke si Sam na naistarstruck ako sa kanya everyday. Sinabi ko sa kanya [na] siya dahilan bakit ako pumasok sa PBB.”
But even if Gerald has been in the public eye for nearly two decades and has been asked to share numerous stories about his life, there is always a new layer of surprise to reveal about the Kapamilya star. Having finished shooting for the riveting Kapamilya drama, A Family Affair, and the cross-cultural romcom, To Russia with Love, on Netflix, fans would be pleased to know that Gerald has another movie coming in 2023, shot in Switzerland, from the same producers of his recent Netflix project.

He shared that 2022 has been a year that marked great memories – from shooting a film abroad, vacationing with his dad, and flying to Singapore with Julia Barretto to watch the annual motor racing event Formula 1 Grand Prix.
